Bidvest Wits midfielder Sibongakonke Mbatha, who is currently on loan at Platinum Stars, has attracted interest from the Indian Super League (ISL).
Mbatha is on the radar of Atletico de Kolkota, who have already made an attempt to lure him over in the current transfer window.
However, it is understood the waiting time for a visa and other logistics has cast a spanner in the works for the 20-year-old.
Although the PSL transfer window officially shut at midnight on January 31, the window in India remains open until February 15 as it only opened on January 16.
The ISL season runs from November to April, including the competition finals, with a total of 10 teams competing for the championship.
Former Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United winger Sameehg Doutie became the first South African to ply his trade in India, when he joined Atletico in 2015 and spent two seasons at the club.
It is unknown if the Kolkata-based outfit will make another attempt to sign the diminutive attacker, who featured for both the Under-17 and U-20 national teams at the FIFA U-17 and U-20 World Cups.
Mbatha has made just seven appearances for Dikwena this season.
