Lebo Mothiba returns to parent club Lille from Valenciennes

Posted: 1 February 2018 Time: 00:35

South African striker Lebo Mothiba has completed a deadline day move back to his French Ligue 1 parent club Lille.

Mothiba had been on a season-and-a-half-long loan at Ligue 2 club Valenciennes, who confirmed the news on their official Twitter account on Wednesday evening.

The 22-year-old has been an integral part in the Valenciennes setup this season, and his tally of eight goals in 20 league appearances is what prompted his early return to Lille.

Mothiba has represented South Africa at Under-23 level and featured in the Olympic Games side in 2016, while having been called up to Bafana Bafana ahead of the Burkina Faso World Cup qualifier in November last year.
