Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe could make an exit today.

KickOff.com has been informed that two clubs have enquired about signing the veteran defender, who has struggled for game-time this season. He has only made one appearance in the Absa Premiership and another in the MTN8.

Maritzburg United, who recently lost German defender Denis Weidlich to Bidvest Wits, are said to be interested in signing the CAF Champions League winner.

“He could leave today, but we will see. SuperSport and Maritzburg are interested,” an informant said.

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane recently told KickOff.com that he would be happy to accept offers for Nthethe, who joined Sundowns from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2014.

Mosimane said he feels Nthethe can still make a contribution elsewhere, but chances of him playing at Sundowns are slim.

Asavela Mbekile is another player who has been linked with a move, but he could stay with the club.

Sundowns have already loaned out Siyanda Zwane, Mogakolodi Ngele, Yannick Zakri and Fares Hachi during the January transfer window.
