Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the club have completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, albeit via a leak on the club's official website.

The Gunners have been chasing the Gabon international since last season and have seemingly landed their man, who was seen arriving at the club's London Colney training ground on Tuesday evening to undergo a medical.

And, speaking after Arsenal's shock 3-1 loss to Swansea City on Tuesday, Wenger confirmed the striker's arrival at the north London giants, with a video briefly appearing on the club's official website quoting the Frenchman as confirming the deal.

A reporter asked Wenger: "Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is an Arsenal player, you must be delighted to get the deal done?"

To which the Frenchman replied: "Yes, it is good news. We need people who can give us more offensive power.

"At the moment, we aren't enough going forward and I am convinced he will give us that.

"He has a big challenge in front of him. He wants to do well in the Premier League.

"It is absolutely good news for us.

"His pace, his finishing. The quality of his runs. His huge physical capacity, that will be important in the Premier League."
