Tercious Malepe has warned his parent club Orlando Pirates they are in for a battle when they face Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium tonight (19h30).
Malepe, who is on loan at Ikamva from the Buccaneers, is relishing the contest as he seeks to help the coastal outfit rise from the relegation zone with 11 matches left.
Pirates' priorities are different at the opposite end of the table, as they try chase down log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns' five-point advantage.
“We are looking forward to the game, I am very motivated to do well,” Malepe is quoted as saying on his club's website.
“I am happy to be with the Urban Warriors, I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”
Malepe continued: “Orlando Pirates are a very good team, we just need to apply by the coach’s instructions and I am sure we will surprise them.
“It is an important game for us, all we need to do is show character. It won’t be an easy game and they can expect a difficult game. We want all three points.”
The 20-year-old is eager to bring joy to the Urban Warriors' anxious fans.
“For the fans, thank you for sticking with us during this tough time. Only way we can thank them now is with a run of good results.
“I am a fighter, the Pirates players must be ready for a battle on Wednesday,” he concluded.
Ajax coach Muhsin Ertugral, who quit the Sea Robbers last term after a brief stint in charge, has been boosted by the loan signing of left-back Siyanda Zwane from Sundowns.
However, uncertainty surrounds the eligibility of fellow recruit Tendai Ndoro.
The Zimbabwean striker has played for three teams this season, including Pirates, which contravenes FIFA rules, although loopholes could be exploited.
