Mamelodi Sundowns on Monday welcomed former Olympic sprint sensation Usain Bolt to their training ground in Chloorkop.
Bolt arrived in South Africa over the weekend and, in conjuction with personal sponsors Puma, who also sponsor the Brazilians, was invited to join the club for a training session.
After a warm welcome from the coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical staff, as well as the players, the reigning 100m and 200m world record holder was put through the warm-ups by Sundowns fitness guru Kabelo Rangoaga.
After firing up his muscles with some ball work, Bolt was put through a shooting drill and showed off his ability with his left foot – see video below.
The 31-year-old also took part in a small-sided affair, managing to do what Kaizer Chiefs couldn't this past weekend and score past former CAF African-based Player of the Year Denis Onyango.
Mosimane was delighted to have the Jamaican superstar in their midst, and joked that signing him could be possible at any moment as he is a free-agent.
"I think we gave Usain a very big reception. He deserves it, he's a superstar and a world champion – no doubt about that, it's not only for cameras," said 'Jingles'.
"The man has done his job. Thanks to Puma for bringing him around.
"The good thing is that he's a free agent so we can sign him; in any position he wants – top striker, he's got the height; goalkeeper – he can do anything; centre-back – just wherever he wants.
"[To Bolt] we respect you for what you've done; for what you've contributed to not only athletics but to the world, for Jamaica – giving hope to the world, that anything is possible and do-able.
"You've done your job, and it's only for us to welcome you and make you feel special, because you are special."
Fellow Puma ambssador Percy Tau also had a few words for Bolt.
"Thank you for coming. It's been an honour to be training with you. I think you did well in sport in general, and it was good – he scored a goal today," he added.
