Golden Arrows and Baroka FC played to a thrilling 2-2 draw, with goals coming either half from both sides in Durban.
Abafana Besthende were looking for only their sixth win of the season, and it showed after their promising start in the opening 10 minutes.
They carved the visitors open with ease, but were unable to make use of the half chances that came their way.
Bakgaga threatened to take a 12th minute lead after Mduduzi Mdantsane unleashed a rocket that cannoned off the underside of the crossbar.
Jabulani Shongwe came close at the other end, but he shot tamely at Virgil Vries after latching onto a loose ball inside the box.
On-loan Orlando Pirates striker Gift Motupa, who came off the bench in their last two encounters, got matters underway after forcing his way past the Abafana Besthende defence to beat Nkosingiphile Gumede with a low-drive shot.
Lucky Nguzana almost doubled the tally after following up on a Mdantsane through ball from a swift counter attack, but the end result was dealt with by Gumede who punched it away for a corner.
Danny Venter levelled matters four minutes before the break after he cut in from the right side for a well-executed left-footed finish.
The momentum continued to swing in their favour at the start of the second half, with Knox Mutizwa trying his luck with a free-kick which was blocked by the Baroka defence.
Lerato Lamola was looking for his first goal of the year, with a looping header which came off the side-netting 10 minutes in.
The visitors made a double change, as Robin Ngalande and Mpho Kgaswane came on for Nguzana and Rhulani Sidumo respectively.
Clinton Larsen’s side took the lead for the first time after Mutizwa slotted home Lamola’s rebounded shot 25 minutes from time.
Their joy was short-lived after Motupa capitalised from a goal-mouth scramble to complete his brace for a point away from home.
