FIFA have confirmed they will be implementing Video Assistant Refereeing at the 2018 World Cup finals.

VAR has already been trialled in some of Europe's top leagues, with Italy, Germany and England all testing the system in various competitions.

And, FIFA's chief commercial officer Philippe Le Floc'h has confirmed the Russia showpiece will include VAR following successful trials in Europe.

He said: "Definitely VAR will happen. It's great to have technology in football because this is also a fair(ness) thing."

He added: "We are talking to various technological companies who are very interested with what we are doing on the technology side of things."
