Baroka FC midfielder Gift Motupa wary of Golden Arrows threat

Posted: 28 January 2018 Time: 09:00

Gift Motupa has warned his Baroka FC teammates against underestimating Golden Arrows.

Arrows have won once in their last 13 matches in the Absa Premiership, but will be encouraged by having collected four points in their previous two outings. It’s for that reason Motupa does not take the KZN outfit lightly, as they look to bounce back from a difficult period.

Baroka, meanwhile, have also not had the best of runs, registering just three victories since the end of September. They are, however, still in the top eight and will go into the match against 10th-placed Arrows wanting to enhance their chances of staying there.

The match will be played at Princess Magogo Stadium today (15h30).

“It’s going to be a tough game because they have more or less the same way we play. We don’t underestimate them based on how they play against other teams. It will be a totally different ball game. We need to stick to our plan,” Motupa tells KickOff.com.

“They have players who can run, who are fast. The ones who need it more will win. We have more or less the same quality of players. It’s not like other teams who are more tactical. So I expect a tough one.”

Seventh-placed Baroka have lost their last three away matches, conceding 10 goals along the way. They will have to keep things tight at the back if they are to get anything out of the game.
