Posted: 27 January 2018 Time: 16:43

Real Madrid got back to winning ways with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Valencia on Saturday evening.

Gareth Bale had a glorious chance to open the scoring in the eighth minute after carving out space in the centre of the box but goalkeeper Neto produced a wonderful save.

Los Blancos were awarded a penalty in the 16th minute for a foul on Cristiano Ronaldo inside the area - the FIFA World Footballer of The Year stepped up to make it 1-0 from the spot.

Ronaldo could have doubled the lead in the 27th minute after being sent through on goal by Toni Kroos, but his strike was parried away by Neto.

Zinedine Zidane's men were awarded another penalty in the 38th minute after Karim Benzema was tripped inside the area. Ronaldo went up again and made it 2-0 from 12-yards out.

Rodrigo Moreno could have pulled a goal back five minutes before halftime with a right-footed strike from just outside the box but Keylor Navas made a crucial save at the top corner.

The half ended with the visitors 2-0 up thanks to a brace from Ronaldo.

Santi Mina reduced the deficit three minutes before the hour with a powerful header inside the box following a cross from Dani Pajero on the right wing.

Ronaldo had a chance with 20 minutes remaining after he was setup by Bale inside the box but his shot from close range took a deflection and Neto made a comfortable save.

However, Marcelo got the third goal six minutes before time after playing a return pass with Marco Asensio before finding the bottom corner with a low shot, 1-3.

Kroos rubbed salt into wounds a minute before time after Marcelo opened the home side with a defence splitting pass that found Ronado, who setup the German international to strike a low shot past Neto, 1-4.
