Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs striker Kenny Niemach says Jeremy Brockie and Leonardo Castro will need proper service from the midfield if any of them are to find the back of the net on Saturday.

Brockie made his debut for Sundowns in a 3-0 victory over Platinum Stars on Saturday, while Leonardo Castro marked his first match in an Amakhosi jersey with the winning goal against Baroka FC on Sunday.

The two players could start upfront when Chiefs host log leaders Sundowns at FNB Stadium on Saturday (20h15).

Niemach, who was a similar striker to Brockie and Castro in that he has a big frame and was strong in the air, knows what a striker can do when he is given the right service. It’s what needs to happen for Brockie or Castro to make an impression on Saturday.

"The biggest influence will come from the midfielders who have gained the biggest understanding of their new striker, as it is imperative to know the movement and strength of the striker so the service can be adequate. Both strikers, if given service, could certainly score [on Saturday]," Niemach tells

'King Kenny', who also scored on his debut for the Soweto giants, is confident Castro will do well at Chiefs, having struggled towards the end of his spell at Sundowns.

"He is a natural goal scorer and his physical presence presents a lot of nuisance value to defenders.

"He must stay on the last man because he has great ability in turning on the shoulder of defenders, and an uncanny way of being free in the box. But I do believe he will get goals."
