The wingback will now miss Saturday's showdown with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium and a trip to champions Bidvest Wits through suspension.

Komphela says the red card was regrettable.

"You woud love to have all the players, and worse 'Tight' had been doing tremendously well," says Komphela.

"Red card, I spoke to him. He says 'yeah', he did. We are an honest people at Chiefs. It is only through honestly that you grow.

"And we regret that he got the red card, the referee as well. I wouldn't want to make reference to other instances, I'm focusing on Chiefs.

"If I were to go outside of Chiefs and look at the same incidents, then that would bring up a whole lot of other things that I never get myself involved in, I hope you understand."

The Glamour Boys trail Sundowns by five points after 18 matches apiece.
