SuperSport United midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane says they will miss the presence of striker Jeremy Brockie upfront.
Brockie, who has joined Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, scored 54 goals for Matsatsantsa, which is just three behind the club's all-time top scorer Abram Raselemane.
He scored crucial goals for the side in big matches and SuperSport now have to find someone else they can rely on to bang in the goals. Coach Eric Tinkler has recently stated that they will be bringing in a replacement for the New Zealand-born striker before the transfer window closes.
"Jeremy is a good player. He scored crucial goals for us. He is a good person and we will definitely miss him as a player and as a person, but you know in football we part ways to meet again in future. He got an opportunity to play somewhere else and I am happy for him and I wish him the best of luck. Life goes on, so we still need to do our jobs on the pitch," the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder tells KickOff.com.
"He’s not fancy, he’s a finisher. He positions himself properly and has a good technique when it comes to kicking the ball. Like I said we will miss him, but we must carry on with the job," he adds.
SuperSport are in action tonight in the Absa Premiership when they host Polokwane City at Lucas Moripe Stadium (19h30). Matsatsantsa, who have just one win in their last 10 matches, are desperate for victory as they are looking to finish in the top eight at the very least.
Letsholonyane admits he has been struggling for form, but says he has seen some improvement in his game in the last few matches.
"I am not happy with some of the games I have played, but I can say the last three or four games I have been getting better. I am not entirely happy, but I am getting to where I want to be."
