Chiefs recently reeled off 2-1 wins over Polokwane City and Baroka, having opened 2018 with a goalless draw against SuperSport United.

Amakhosi have only netted 17 goals in 18 league matches - 14 less than free-scoring log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who they next host at FNB Stadium this Saturday (20h15).

Komphela is aware his side could do more with the chances they create but he retains hope they can build on their momentum in front of goal.

"It could be better, could be better," he said.

"There were instances where we were creating too many chances and if you score two goals a match in any championship, chances are you will win that match.

"For the opponent to beat you they need to score three and if they score two they get a point. But we are delighted with the number of goals."

Komphela was also happy that his club managed to record their first win over Bakgaga in five competitive meetings this past weekend despite the dismissal of Joseph Molangoane.

Molangoane was sent off in the 72nd minute for elbowing defender Khutso Mohwatseleng at Peter Mokaba Stadium, picking up a two-game ban in the process.

"In any situation there is no loss, but learning. In any predicament, your character is either revealed or built. In this instance we managed to get results on the back of a red card and we won the match.

"Then it means the experience of the previous match, the belief, the confidence, even knowing that even if you are 0-1, you can still make it 1-1, 2-1.

"That builds character, I hope we carry that with us," concluded Komphela.
