Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic laments Orlando Pirates’ complacency

Posted: 20 January 2018 Time: 22:51

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic admitted that his side’s complacency cost them in their 1-1 draw with Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Having beaten Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 in their last game, Pirates missed out on the chance to capitalise on their newfound momentum, dropping two points at home.

According to Micho, the result against the Brazilians may have done his side more harm than good.

“Every time you play a big match, you are using your tank of emotions and it’s very hard to focus on the next match. We were thinking that that match would be won itself. It was not. It was a very tough match. This is the team that has two times beaten Sundowns. This is a team that is very competitive in the league and we have paid that price,” he told SuperSport TV after the game.

“I want to believe that we have been a bit complacent and we needed to work harder and to dig deeper in order to win. From the point of possession, in the second half, it was okay — but the amount of entrances into the box is something that was lacking. If we enter more times in the box, we can score even one, two, three goals.”
