Mncwango becomes a Clever Boy

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt last night confirmed that striker Thobani Mncwango has joined the Clever Boys from Polokwane City.
Initially Mncwango had signed a pre-contract with Wits, but the Clever Boys made it clear that they want to have the striker this month and now Hunt finally has his man.
The main concern, however, is Mncwango's fitness levels. He made just two appearances for Rise and Shine this season, which is far less than the 15 he managed in all competitions last term.
"We've got the boy coming in, so he will help us. He has not played," said Hunt, who confirmed that Mncwango will be available for the club's next match.
"He can play wide and he can play down the middle. He's got a few goals and he's got a little bit of pace, [which is] something we need. As I said he has not played in a long time, so we will have a look and see what happens. It's like Keagan Ritchie as well, his fitness levels are not good. He needs to play and he will play. We've got lots of games."
Hunt has been struggling to find a consistent centre forward this season. Egyptian loanee Amr Gamal has fallen out of favour, while new man Lehlohonolo Majoro is still searching for his first goal. Eleazar Rodgers spends a lot of the time on the bench and James Keene has proven to be useful in that he bullies defenders with his physique. Keene has bagged six goals in all competitions this season.
"In my 25 years as a coach I have only had one striker that has scored.more than 15 goals in a season," said Hunt.
Wits, meanwhile, registered a valuable 1-0 victory over 10 men Bloemfontein Celtic in Milpark on Friday night.
