Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has hailed the importance of Abbubaker Mobara to his team amid talk the Bucs vice-captain could be heading to Bidvest Wits.

Mobara has been linked with a move to Wits as part of a swap deal involving fellow midfielder Xola Mlambo.

'Micho' was cagey when asked about the future of Mobara, who led Bucs in the absence of suspended skipper Thabo Matlaba in a 3-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.

"Mobara is deputy captain in the team," said the Serbian. "He is an important member in the team.

"The rest of the things I don't want to comment [on] because I am fully focused on the field of play."

Meanwhile, KickOff.com has learnt that Bucs are hoping to lure Students midfielder Ben Motshwari to Mayfair.

"Pirates have made contact with Wits regarding Motshwari, but at this stage the club is not willing to sell him," said a source.

"There are a few days left before the transfer window closes, maybe things can change."
