Zwane: I won't give up

Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Siyanda Zwane says he owes it to himself and his family not to give up on getting regular game-time at the club.
Zwane extended his deal with Sundowns towards the end of last season despite seeing little action, but he says he could not just give up on his mission to feature regularly for the seven-time league champions.
Zwane has played in Sundowns’ last two matches which ended in defeat. He operated as a central defender in the 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City in December and was at right-back when Sundowns were edged 3-2 by Polokwane City on Saturday.
“Normally I am a person who never gives up. I just felt I owe it to myself, to Sundowns and my family to keep fighting. If I give up what will I tell my kids later in life? I owe it to myself to give it one more shot. I am not playing regularly, but Sundowns is a good team and it has been a great environment and I will never speak bad about them,” Zwane tells KickOff.com.
Zwane says he has to compel coach Pitso Mosimane to play him regularly, which means he has to work harder at training to get ahead of Thapelo Morena.
“I have to try and work hard and hopefully the coach will reward me with more game-time. It’s not easy playing for a team of Sundowns’ quality. When you get a chance it’s either you take it or you don’t,” Zwane says.
“Sometimes you got to let it rain in order for the sun to come up again. It has not been easy, I don’t want to lie. I played centre-back against City and I played in my normal right-back position at Polokwane City. I must make sure I give the coach reason to play me. I must continue working hard and improve from my last game. I feel I could have done better, but I have not been playing for a long time, so it’s not going to be easy. I hope to play in the next game.”
