Kabelo Mahlasela says it's a dream come true to join Kaizer Chiefs.
The attacker had his first training session at Naturena today after joining the Soweto giants on a two-and-a-half year contract from Bloemfontein Celtic.
Amakhosi loaned defender Lorenzo Gordinho to Celtic for a year as part of the deal.
“This is a dream come true for me and I’m happy that I am part of this big institution,” Mahlasela told the club's website.
“The welcome by the chairman, staff, coaches and team mates has been phenomenal. I am looking forward to engaging with the supporters.”
The 26-year-old is well aware of the heavy expectations of the Khosi nation.
“I am aware of the pressure that comes with playing for Kaizer Chiefs. The only way to repay those who recommended me to the Kaizer Chiefs management and to keep the supporters happy is to work hard and make sure we do well as a team – this way our names will be added to the glorious history of the club.
“Walking around the offices and seeing the trophies in the cabinet and the professional way the team is run is motivating enough and I will not let anyone down.”
He added: “Supporters play a big role in motivating us and we know the emotional investment they put in – ours is to deliver so they go home happy.”
