Travis Graham stuck for the rest of the season

Former Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham remains in limbo at the club and looks set to see out the rest of the season training with the Multichoice Diski Challenge side.

The tough-tackling midfielder started his last season with the Urban Warriors by opting not to renew with the Cape club, and was thus frozen out and not included in then-coach Stanley Menzo’s plans for the campaign.

Having entered the last six months of his contract, and with the January transfer window now open, KickOff.com asked club boss Ari Efstathiou whether the former skipper’s situation has changed.

“No, it is still the same, it hasn’t changed,” Efstathiou tells this website.

“There have been no offers for him.”

Despite the squad under the helm of new coach Muhsin Ertugral, Efstathiou says the midfielder will not be given the opportunity to rejoin the team, insisting it was the player’s choice to isolate himself.

“It’s not possible for him to be part of the squad,” he continued. “His contract ends in June, so he’s still here training, and was this morning with the MDC team.

“The decision is his, it’s always been his.”
