Mamelodi Sundowns' Denis Onyango wary of Polokwane City striker Rodney Ramagalela

After bagging a brace at Loftus Stadium in August last year, Polokwane City striker Rodney Ramagalela will be a tightly marked man when he comes up against his former side Mamelodi Sundowns.
Absa Premiership leaders Sundowns visit City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday (15h30), looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City in their final game of 2017 in December.
Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango was beaten twice by the league’s top scorer in a 2-1 defeat to Rise and Shine back in August, including a stunning long-range effort which won Ramagalela the goal of the month award for August/September.
Onyango says Sundowns have to cut the supply to Ramagalela, but he knows the striker is able to create something out on nothing, so they have to be alert throughout the 90 minutes on Saturday.
“He is full of energy and he likes playing against Sundowns. Even when he was at [Golden] Arrows he loved playing against Sundowns.
“We must cut the supply because if he does not have the ball he is not so dangerous. Sometimes it's difficult to terminate all the supply, but we need to defend well.”
Sundowns head into the second half of the season as favourites to bag the league title after registering nine victories in 14 matches in the first round of the campaign.
They are ruthless in attack, with the likes of Percy Tau, Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi constantly causing problems, and they have been tight at the back with 10 goals conceded.
Sundowns will take on Rise and Shine without their new signing Aubrey Ngoma, who joined the Chloorkop side from Cape Town City carrying an injury.
