Oriel Romeu calls on Southampton team-mates to stick together after eight-game winless run

Posted: 2 January 2018 Time: 14:46

Oriol Romeu has urged Southampton’s players to stick together now more than ever after going eight games without a win.

The Saints last racked up a victory in November and find themselves just two points clear of the relegation zone after 21 matches this season.

Southampton did, however, pick up a morale-boosting 0-0 draw against Manchester United in their last outing and Romeu hopes that can help the team regain their belief and push on with the second-half of the campaign.

"When you are in this situation it is not good to point at something," Romeu told Sky Sports ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.

"You need to look at the overall feeling and be honest. We all need to look at ourselves and see what we are not doing right and correct those things.

"I wouldn't say it is one specific thing - either physically, tactically or technically. It is just a matter of getting all those things together and pushing the team in the same direction."
