Black Leopards legend Mulondo Sikwivhilu says he is hurt to see the his former club stuck in the National First Division and blames the players for the Limpopo side's misfortunes.
Lidoda Duvha missed out on PSL promotion by inch last season as they choked in the play - offs stages.
Leopards, who recently parted ways with Belgian coach Ivan Minnaert, are currently 10th on the First Division standings, 12 points behind log leaders Highlands Park.
They are not out of the race to win promotion, but they would need to make major improvements in the second half of the season to give themselves a chance.
"I think it's a matter of taking things lightly," the former striker tells KickOff.com.
"If you sign a contract and then become satisfied just because you are earning a salary...as long as you are friends with whoever you'll be there for a long time.
“But if you are playing to grow yourself as a brand you will be great and I think that's the thing that is lacking in the current players. They just want to be seen that they are playing for Leopards. You find a striker scoring after seven games because they think one goal is enough. So I think the ambition is lacking."
