Eden Hazard’s father claims the midfielder has rejected a contract extension offer from Chelsea.
The Belgium international has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months, with the playmaker himself admitting it would be “a dream” to play under Zinedine Zidane.
And, the 26-year-old looks to be orchestrating an exit from Stamford Bridge after his father, Thierry Hazard, revealed his son had rejected an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2020.
"What I can reveal about Eden is that he refused a contract extension," Thierry Hazard told Le Soir.
"This was so that, if necessary, he could follow the interest of Real, whom he could see himself playing for.
"But, as of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid. Eden is only one of the parties involved in his future."
