As we prepare to end what has been an interesting year of football, KickOff.com looks at the top 10 performing stars of 2017 from all fronts.

10. Mihlali Mayambela

The younger brother of Chippa United winger Mark Mayambela is doing well in Sweden. In 33 appearances on loan to Degerfors from Djurgarden, Mayambela scored eight goals and assisted five. It’s only a matter of time before Bafana coach Baxter gives him a call-up.

9. Thembi Kgatlana

It has not been a busy year for Banyana Banyana, but Kgatlana has managed to perform well enough to earn recognition. She was named the Player of the Tournament at the Cosafa Cup which Banyana won earlier this year. She scored in the final as they beat hosts Zimbabwe 2-1. Kgatlana is a nominee for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.

8. Lebo Mothiba

On loan to Valenciennes in the French Ligue 2 from top flight side Lille, Mothiba has made 20 appearances in all competitions and has found the back of the net nine times, including a hat-trick against US Orleans. He earned one Bafana call-up and will be hoping for more in 2018.

7. Luther Singh

The Portuguese based youngster finished as the top scorer at the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia with four goals, as he helped Amajita qualify for the World Cup in South Korea. Singh, who was shortlisted for the CAF Youth Player of the Year award, has made 16 appearances for Braga’s reserve side, scoring six goals and assisting two. He earned himself a Bafana call-up for the friendly matches against Angola and Guineaa-Bissau early this year.

6. Dino Ndlovu

The Bafana Bafana striker was the only South African player involved in this season’s UEFA Champions League group stages with Azerbaijan side Qarabag FK. He scored four goals in their Champions League qualifying campaign and finished the season on five goals in 13 league appearances, as Qarabag won the league title. He’s been linked with a move to China.
