Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos admits there is no need for added motivation ahead of Saturday’s El Clasico against Barcelona.
The Galacticos host their bitter rivals at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend trailing the La Liga leaders by 11 points, albeit with a game in hand.
As such, Kroos says Madrid are all too aware of the importance of the game but insists they approach all matches with the utmost seriousness, and against Barcelona will be no different.
“For this game [against Barcelona] you don’t need anything special before or any motivation or anything,” Kroos said.
“It’s better to go with a good feeling back to Madrid but this game is special whatever happens before.”
Kroos also admitted there is no reason to elaborate on the abilities of team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, who helped Madrid successfully defend their FIFA Club World Cup title with goals in the semi-final and final.
“We know if he [Ronaldo] is on the pitch he tries to help us. He tries to score and he did it again in both matches. We don’t need to speak about how important he is to us,” Kroos concluded.
