Money well spent on Doc Khumalo

Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele says money was well spent on bringing in Doctor Khumalo as a technical director.
Khumalo’s appointment was confirmed in August and questions were raised on whether he and coach Kgoloko Thobejane can work together.
Mphahlele says Khumalo does not interfere in the head coach’s work and has instead added value to the Limpopo outfit with the experience he has in the game.
Baroka are in fourth place on the Absa Premiership standings on 22 points, five points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
“We are over the moon with how the team is performing, extremely happy,” Mphahlele tells KickOff.com.
“These boys are doing wonderful work this year. I am really proud of them. We signed quality players this season and we have our technical director Doctor Khumalo. He brought a lot of experience to the team and he has a good relationship with the coach. He does not interfere at all, which is good. He is doing his job and everybody is happy with him being at the club. We are getting our money’s worth,” he adds.
Meanwhile, Mphahlele says they would be interested in keeping midfielder Gift Motupa beyond his one-season long loan from Orlando Pirates.
Reports recently suggested that the Buccaneers are interested in bringing Motupa, who has scored five goals this season, back during the January transfer window.
“As far as we know Motupa will be with us till the end of June. He has to go back. If Pirates want him, he is their property, but if they give us a chance to keep [him] then we will do so,” Mphahlele says.
Baroka will be back in action on January 6 when they take on Pirates at Orlando Stadium.
