Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos declares El Clasico as “the most important game in the world"

Sergio Ramos claims El Clasico is nothing short of “the most important game in the world” as he prepares to lead Real Madrid out against Barcelona on Saturday.

The two La Liga juggernauts lock horns at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend with the Galacticos trailing their bitter rivals by 11 points in the Spanish topflight, albeit with a game in hand.

And despite league permutations ahead of the encounter, Los Blancos captain Ramos believes there is no other match in football that can hold a candle to Real Madrid versus Barcelona.

“It will be a great match,” the centre-back told Marca. “There are no words to describe the Clasico. It is totally different, and the most important game in the world.

“We are obliged to win now more than ever due to the situation we find ourselves in, in order to remain in the fight for La Liga.”
