Pitso Mosimane: Teko Modise and Benni McCarthy are legends

Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane insists there is no bad blood between him and Teko Modise or room for emotion in tonight's clash with Cape Town City at Loftus Versfeld.
Mosimane will face Modise for the first time since the midfielder released his controversial book where he revealed he never spoke to the coach in his last two years at Chloorkop. 'The General' moved away from Sundowns at the end of last season to join forces with City.
"Teko has not done any bad to me," said Mosimane ahead of the log leaders' final game of the year.
"I only want to remain with the good memories I had with Teko, seeing the goals he scored and the passes he made.
"He is a legend. A very good, talented player. I am happy I was part of it at the beginning and was part of it at the end of it. He will tell you I never said he must go. I never said his contract must not be renewed."
‘Jingles’ expects an exciting contest this evening and doubts Benni McCarthy's side will park the bus in Tshwane.
"Benni is an attacking coach, his team goes forward. I didn’t see much in their last game [1-0 win over AmaZulu last Friday], I saw a little bit," said Mosimane.
"They are one team that plays football. Celtic plays football, Benni plays football, Baroka plays football. I don’t know what ace Benni has in his pocket. There is nothing emotional. I met him during the World Cup draw. We had a very good chat. He is a legend. He has done very well for South African football and we should not forget that. He is coming to this space to coach and he needs to be given a chance, and I am happy that he is doing well."
Masandawana lost twice to the Citizens last season when the coastal outfit was under the guidance of Eric Tinkler, who has since moved to SuperSport United.
Mosimane points out much has changed since then.
"When you look at Cape Town City, to say they beat us twice or we never beat them, we will be emotional and we will personalise this. That has nothing to do with this. That was a different reign. That was a different time," said Mosimane.
"I remember Platinum Stars was beating us all the time, Moroka Swallows was beating us all the time, Celtic was beating us all the time. It's a different story now. We just go on game by game. We were beating Chiefs all the time, they beat us now."
