The final shortlist of nominees for the 2017 CAF Awards has been released, with Banyana Banyana and Chrestina Kgatlana South Africa's only representatives.

Banyana were named alongside Ghana and the Nigeria's Under-20 teams in the top three for the Women's National Team of the Year award, following their COSAFA Women's Championship victory in September.

Desire Ellis's side went unbeaten at the showpiece in Zambia, where they were crowned regional champions for a fourth time after defeating Zimbabwe 2-1 in the final.

Banyana forward Kgatlana also made it into the final three nominees for the Women's Player of the Year prize, after she picked up the player of the tournament award at the COSAFA championships.
