Morena: We can grind out results

Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Thapelo Morena says their back-to-back 1-0 victories in the space of four days showed they know how to grind out results.
Sundowns edged Golden Arrows 1-0 on Sunday, thanks to a goal from Bangaly Soumahoro, before Percy Tau’s solitary strike against Maritzburg United in midweek earned them maximum points and a guaranteed spot at the summit come the end of the year.
The Absa Premiership leaders head into their match against Bloemfontein Celtic tomorrow with the aim of extending their unbeaten run to seven matches and keeping another clean sheet. Pitso Mosimane’s men last conceded a goal on November 1, when they beat Orlando Pirates 3-1, and are looking to keep it tight at the back against Morena’s former side Celtic.
Mosimane has been playing with Morena, Soumahoro, Motjeka Madisha and Tebogo Langerman in defence, with Denis Onyango as the goalkeeper. It's unlikely to change for the match tomorrow.
“It [the victories over Arrows and Maritzburg] shows that we can grind out results. We do our tactical work and we watch videos of our games. We improve each and every game,” Morena tells KickOff.com.
“The first thing we always want to do is to keep a clean sheet and let the game run. When the game runs, we will create chances and we do our best to convert those chances.
“We work hard at training and every game that comes we are doing our best to keep a clean sheet. We [the defenders] normally talk before and after the game to see where we can improve. During the game you will see Motjeka and Bangaly communicating. The senior guys are always commanding the defence.
“We will do our best to keep a clean sheet against Celtic. If we concede, then we just have to make sure we score more than them.”
Morena is looking forward to coming up against some of his friends at Celtic.
“I keep in touch with some of the guys like Tshegofatso Mabasa and Tshepo Rikhotso. Tshegofatso has been doing well and I always tell him to wait for his chance and whenever he gets it he should make the most of it.
“Celtic have been doing well and they have been converting their chances,” he adds.
