Defender Serge Aurier reveals he never wanted to depart Paris Saint-Germain for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has revealed it was never his desire to join Tottenham, describing Paris Saint-Germain as “the club of my heart”.

The France international was sold by the Ligue 1 giants in the off-season, with Spurs clinching his services for £23m as they looked to replace Kyle Walker, who left for Manchester City.

Aurier, though, says he would have preferred to remain at Parc des Princes, telling RMC: “Of course, I would have liked to stay at PSG. It’s the club of my heart.

“I come from Sevran. I’m from Paris. There’s nothing better than playing for the club you love.”
