Paul Pogba rejected approach from Real Madrid in favour of his return to Manchester United

Posted: 13 December 2017 Time: 09:28

Paul Pogba has revealed he turned down an approach from Real Madrid in order to follow his “heart” and re-sign with Manchester United.

The France international left Juventus in 2016 for a then-world record £89m transfer to return to Old Trafford, where he previously came up through the Premier League giants’ academy ranks.

And while the 24-year-old missed the chance to be part of the Madrid team that won the UEFA Champions League and Spanish La Liga, Pogba insists he has no regrets over his decision to rejoin the Red Devils.

"To be honest, Real Madrid came to me and I was thinking to go there, and I was thinking to go to Manchester United too," he told the Beyond the Pitch podcast.

"But I always felt it in my heart. My heart told me to come back here [Manchester], I don't know why, I didn't know what was going to happen.

"But I did it, and I don't regret. I never regret my choice."
