Mamelodi Sundowns are in a race to sign Uruguayan winger Gaston Sirino and Bolivian forward Gilbert Alvarez Vargas in time for their 2018 CAF Champions League campaign.
KickOff.com last week revealed Sundowns are chasing the South American pair.
"We are trying to strengthen the team. We hope we can get those guys to come here," said Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane.
"You have to understand that we have two different programmes. We have the PSL programme but also we are at the beginning of the programme of the Champions League.
"Basically now we preparing for the Champions League and we have to sign new players now because we have about 15 days."
Downs have exhausted their foreign quota this season and will need to free up some space, with Colombian hitman Leonardo Castro amongst those looking to be on the way out at Chloorkop.
Meanwhile, Mosimane insisted Mzikayise Mashaba is no longer part of the Brazilians set-up. Mashaba's contract was reportedly terminated for misconduct ahead of its expiry in June next year.
“Mzikayise is no longer our player guys. He is no longer in the club.”
This website tried getting hold of Mashaba’s manager Tim Sukazi to gain clarity on the fullback's situation but calls went unanswered.
