Real Madrid netted five goals in the first half as they recorded a 5-0 win over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real got off the perfect start as mix up in the Sevilla defence allowed Nacho to sneak in and score after just three minutes, 1-0.

The home side doubled their lead on 23 minutes as Cristiano Ronaldo fired into the bottom corner from close range, following good work by Marco Asensio.

Zinedine Zidane's charges were then awarded a penalty after Jesus Navas handled in the box. Ronaldo converted the spot-kick to extend his side's lead, 3-0.

Toni Kroos made it 4-0 in the 38th minute as the German collected a pass from Lucas Vazquez before placing the ball into the bottom corner.

Los Blancos managed to bag a fifth goal just before the break as Karim Benzema played in Achraf Hakimi, who fired past Sergio Rico.

Sevilla showed some life in the second half as Lucas Muriel and Nolito tested Real shot-stopper Keylor Navas in the opening 10 minutes.

With Real comfortably leading, Zinedine Zidane opted withdraw Kroos and Luka Modric for Marcos Llorente and Dani Ceballos.

The final stages of the second half proved to be a lackluster affair as Real were happy to move the ball around to run down the clock.
