Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane admits he may be forced into making a January signing following injury to Raphael Varane.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez recently claimed he was happy with the current defensive setup at the Santiago Bernabeu, despite injuries to Samuel Umtiti and Javier Mascherano.
However, with Varane now also joining the casualty list after taking a knock in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund, the Galacticos may have little option but to scour the market for a new defender.
“Transfers? There’s that possibility, nothing has changed, so we’ll see what happens,” Madrid coach Zidane said.
“We have 30 days to see what can happen. It’s a possibility like every year.
“Varane? He hurt himself and we’ll see how he develops. They’ll do scans on him on Thursday, but he’s optimistic.
“In any case, he won’t play on Saturday. Vallejo? I don’t think he has much of an issue, but we still have to assess him.
“We’ll find a solution to overcome this. Llorente’s played at centre-back before, so we’ll see.”
