Emre Can and Liverpool don't fear any opponent ahead of Monday's UEFA Champions League last-16 draw

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can insists the team are ready for any challenge ahead of Monday’s draw for the UEFA Champions League last 16.

The Reds cruised through the group stages with an undefeated record following Wednesday’s 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow, which saw the Premier League side bag the second-most goals in the first round, behind only Paris Saint-Germain.

Jurgen Klopp’s men could face Basel, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk, Porto or Real Madrid and Can insists they do not fear facing any opponent in the first knockout round.

Asked if Liverpool will be feared by those teams, the German told his club’s official website: "I don't know, but we are not afraid of any team.

"If you want to go through to the next round you have to win, it doesn't matter who.

"We will see who we play but of course we have confidence."
