Jose Mourinho not buying into Pep Guardiola's claims David Silva will miss Manchester derby

Jose Mourinho says he is not falling for claims from Pep Guardiola that David Silva will miss Sunday’s Manchester derby through injury.

Mourinho’s Manchester United host bitter rivals Manchester City in an epic Old Trafford encounter which pits first versus second as the Red Devils look to cut the gap to the Premier League-leading Citizens.

City boss Pep Guardiola claimed this week that star midfielder Silva is likely to miss the match through injury, but Mourinho does not believe the suggestion, claiming it is the same tactic Arsenal used last weekend when claiming Alexandre Lacazette was injured, only for the striker to start.

"Do you want the truth or what do you want? You want the truth," joked the United boss.

"The truth is Eric Bailly, no chance for the weekend. Phil Jones a chance.

"(Marouane) Fellaini a chance, Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) a big chance and (Nemanja) Matic is injured but will play for sure.

"I'm telling the truth. He's injured but he will play for sure. (Michael) Carrick no chance.

"It's the truth, eh? No stories of (Alexandre) Lacazette, David Silva. All the truth."
