Skillful left-back Sifiso Hlanti is determined to take his game to the next level at Bidvest Wits.
Hlanti linked up with Wits from AmaZulu at the beginning of last season on a two-year deal following a six-month loan spell with the Clever Boys.
The 27-year-old went on to claim Premiership and MTN8 honours in 2016/17 as a regular fixture in the Students backline alongside Buhle Mkhwanazi, Thulani Hlatshwayo and Nazeer Allie.
His displays have also earned him national recognition as Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has preferred him ahead of the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns fullback Tebogo Langerman.
Hlanti feels Gavin Hunt's outfit provides an ideal platform to showcase his ability.
"I just felt that Wits were the ones who would give me the opportunity to show my talent more than what I did in the past," Hlanti said of his decision to move to Milpark amid rival interest in his services from Kaizer Chiefs at the time.
"I have played so many games for Wits which is a good thing at the same time. I felt that I have to give them back with performances because of the opportunity they gave me. I did it by myself to be in the starting eleven.
"Wits, if you look at their history, they are a team that always want to compete. So for me I felt that it was about time to move from AmaZulu to be at this club."
The only piece of domestic silverware missing from Hlanti's collection is the Nedbank Cup after he lifted the Telkom Knockout cup in his hometown of Durban on the weekend.
The Newcastle-born defender is hungry to achieve more.
"There's still a lot that I need to do because I know very well what I'm capable off," he added.
"The only challenge is that I need to do my best in each and every single game that I play. So I'm looking forward to adding value in the team at the same time to do more for myself."
Hunt's side tonight host fellow league strugglers Ajax Cape Town at Bidvest Stadium (19h30).
