Cape Town City owner John Comitis says he would be very surprised if Lehlohonolo Majoro has done business behind his back in search of greener pastures.
KickOff.com understands that Majoro is going to sign a pre-contract with SuperSport, with his existing deal at City set to expire in June 2018.
However, Comitis has faith they can iron out the 31-year-old striker's future in January.
“Look, I’m fully aware 'Major' is in his last season but knowing him and how he operates, I would be very surprised if that is the case,” Comitis told this website.
“I’ve seen him for 15 minutes at training. He is a real team player and like I said I’ll have to sit with him in January on the way forward.”
Meanwhile, Comitis confirmed that assistant coach Ian Taylor is leaving the club to further his career in China.
“This is another feather in our cap as a club,” said Comitis. “I’ve said before that we as a club will not stand in anyone’s way should they want to seek opportunities elsewhere.”
Comitis also confirmed former Ajax Cape Town technical director and interim coach Jan Pruijn has submitted his CV to the Citizens.
Mamelodi Sundowns' MDC coach David Notoane has been mentioned as a possible successor to Taylor.
