Thomas Muller urges Bayern Munich to find Robert Lewandowski back-up amid MLS talk

Posted: 1 December 2017 Time: 16:59

Thomas Muller has urged Bayern Munich to bring in a back-up to Robert Lewandowski as he feels the club are over-reliant on the Poland international.

Lewandowski is undoubtedly the first-choice striker at the Allianz Arena but the lack of another star man up front could be cause for concern for the Bavarian giants.

And while Muller admits it will be tough to find a player of the same quality who is willing to play second-fiddle, the Germany international feels it is vital the Bundesliga giants start preparing for the forward’s exit.

“We have no player who can replace Robert Lewandowski as a striker, being the type of player he is,” Muller told Bayern TV.

“On the other hand, as has been said many times in the past, it's complicated to find a backup, because Lewandowski wants to play all the time.”
