Jomo Cosmos have suffered a blow as star striker Sicelo Mkhize has been ruled out for the year with a shoulder injury.

The 21-year-old, who has four goals and three assists this season, sustained the knock during a training game on Wednesday.

“No doubt it’s a big setback for me,” Mkhize told the club's website.

“The physio told me the injury looks bad and I cannot play until next January.”

In other team news, first-choice goalkeeper King Ndlovu is doubtful for Saturday's trip to Witbank Spurs with a hamstring complaint.

Midfielder Tebogo Mabula has been ruled out with a knee problem, while forward Franklin Ogbonna is also nursing cartilage damage.

However, winger Tebogo Makobela returns to the squad after serving a one-match suspension last weekend.

Ezenkosi, recent 4-1 victors over Mbombela United, are third in the second-tier standings with 21 points from 12 matches - a point behind University of Pretoria and two shy of Highlands Park.
