KickOff.com has learnt that struggling Maritzburg United have suspended their winger Devon Saal after he voiced out his frustrations at coach Fadlu Davids in front of the players.
Saal was apparently not happy with the team selection in the league game against Polokwane City on November 22 and now the Cape Town-born winger will go through the club’s internal disciplinary process.
Saal is not training with the club at the moment and he was not part of the side's goalless draw against Bidvest Wits last Saturday.
The 25-year-old, who joined the club at the beginning of last season when Ernst Middendorp was in charge, has only played three league matches, starting two and coming on as a substitute once.
When called for comment, Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia declined to discuss the player.
Saal's behaviour will not be welcomed at the club as the Team of Choice are going through a difficult period. They have gone 11 games without a win in all competitions. They are currently in 12th place on the league standings.
