Ailing Ajax Cape Town assess Malian hitman

Posted: 30 November 2017 Time: 16:00

Ajax Cape Town have invited Malian forward Mohammed Diallo for trials as they seek solutions to the troubles that have left them wallowing just above the relegation zone.

Diallo touched down in Cape Town today and is expected to start training at the club’s base when the rest of the first team squad reports back having played in Mbombela last night.

The 21-year-old played at the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup finals and was previously targeted by Free State Stars when Serame Letsoaka was in charge.

Letsoaka attended that tournament in New Zealand as Mali finished an impressive third with the then-teenager involved in five games.

Diallo has played for MC Oujda of Morocco but has recently been back home.

He can play anywhere across the frontline, though he is suited to the centre forward position due to his height.

The Urban Warriors will assess the Malian through the next two weeks.
