SuperSport coach Eric Tinkler turns attention to Orlando Pirates after Ajax Cape Town clash

SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has swiftly shifted attention to Tuesday's "massive game" with his former club Orlando Pirates.

The CAF Confederation Cup silver medallists marked their return to Premiership football with a 1-0 win over ailing Ajax Cape Town last night.

Matsatsantsa rose to 10th in the standings with 13 points from six matches, and are just six points adrift of leaders Baroka with six matches in hand.

Second-placed Pirates, 1-0 victors over Bloemfontein Celtic last time out, have 18 points from 12 matches.

"We’ve got Pirates coming up next, which is another massive game next Tuesday and that’s where our focus is now," said Tinkler ahead of the clash at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Meanwhile, Tinkler, who steered Bucs in 2015/16 after serving as an assistant and interim coach, felt his side could have really hurt the Urban Warriors in Mpumalanga.

SuperSport got the win courtesy of Aubrey Modiba's 25th minute strike at Mbombela Stadium.

"I thought we reacted well in that first 25 minute period. We got the goal and possibly could have got one or two if we were a little bit better in our transitional play in the final third. We could have really hurt them.

"In the second half we became complacent and nearly lost it."
