Chippa United rope in ex-Orlando Pirates midfielder

Chippa United have roped in former Orlando Pirates midfielder Maselaelo 'Shakes' Seanego on a short-term deal, according to a source close to the player.

Seanego previously worked with Chippa coach Teboho Moloi at Bucs and was also a regular in Moloi's national U-17 squad in 2008.

The 23-year-old was released by Pirates in August - along with the likes of Sello Japhta, Roger Majafa, Lindokuhle Mtshali, Donald Mokondelela and Siyanda Ngubo - following a loan stint with National First Division side Royal Eagles last season.

"Yes, there is a player here called Shakes but his real name is Seanego," the source told KickOff.com.

"He has signed for the short term until the end of the season. He's been training with the team for quite some time now."

Contacted for comment, Chippa spokesman Luthando Zibeko said. "I don't have any information regarding that right now but we will release a statement. But yes, the player has been training with the team."
