Micho: Orlando Pirates deserve more

Posted: 28 November 2017 Time: 16:30

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says football is not always fair as he feels the Buccaneers have been hard done by in a number of their games this season.

Pirates recently snapped a six-game winless run with a 1-0 defeat of Bloemfontein Celtic, rocketing the Soweto giants to within a point of log leaders Baroka a third into the season.

'Micho', however, believes his charges deserve to be further ahead.

"Football is a game where it is not you get what you deserve, but it is what you get," said the Serbian.

"I believe that in all the games we played, we could get much more than what we got in the times behind us. Having in mind the possession we had, having in mind the chances we created, having in mind minimising the chances created towards us. If football was a game where you get what you deserve then we would get much better results. Football is not what you deserve, football is what you get in the end."

Meanwhile, Micho paid respect to Telkom Knockout finalists Celtic after their meeting at Dr Molemela Stadium this past Sunday.

"Our philosophy today, if we could not create goals from a number of chances, let us create more chances. It was very hard to play against a very good set-up of Bloemfontein Celtic's defense. Very dangerous on counter-attacks, you could see reaching the final has increased confidence. Yes, we got a result but we have to work very hard to get that consistencey in getting results."

The Sea Robbers next host SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium on December 5.
