Victor Obinna boost for Cape Town City

Cape Town City have been boosted by the return to full training of Nigerian striker Victor Obinna.

The former West Ham forward has recovered from a hamstring problem sustained in a 1-0 win over Free State Stars at Cape Town Stadium on November 1.

City announced the news on Twitter, saying: "Victor Obinna resumes full training this week after successfully recovering from an injury which kept him sidelined for over 3 weeks!"

The fourth-placed Citizens next host struggling Maritzburg United at Athlone Stadium on December 5.

Coach Benni McCarthy has hinted he could start Aubrey Ngoma against the Team of Choice after the winger made his first appearance of the season off the bench in the 2-2 draw with Golden Arrows last weekend.

The diminutive winger, who scored seven goals and made 16 assists last term, was previously sidelined with a knee injury picked up on Bafana Bafana duty at the COSAFA Cup in June.
