Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says in all his travels he has never seen goal-scoring chances go to waste like they do in South Africa.

The Serbian expressed the view after Pirates were held to a goalless draw by Golden Arrows at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.

'Micho', whose side have only scored eight times in 11 league matches this season, feels the nationwide scoring problem manifested itself in Bafana Bafana's failed 2018 World Cup campaign.

"Here players, when they miss one chance they are they so proactive, they think about that chance and that stops them from creating more chances," said the former Uganda and Rwanda coach.

"This is what we are trying to hammer the nail into the head, to understand that if you think about what you have missed, then you will miss more in front of yourself. But if you forget and if you miss one, pay us back by creating three more, maybe one of three will enter."

He continued: "As far as am seeing, I dont know how you see it, I see we don't have a problem of football, we have a mental blockage to put the ball in the net. It is not only with us, you could see why the national team have not gone [to Russia].

"I have been to 138 [countries] all over the world, I have never see this in my life, this amount of misses. Here I am talking respectfully to the country because I am part of this, I feel part of South Africa. I want us together all to look for a solution on how to sort out the problem."

The mid-table Buccaneers next visit Bloemfontein Celtic at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday looking to snap a six-game winless run in the Premiership.
