Bidvest Wits midfielder Xolani Mlambo has praised his side's discipline in their 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout.
James Keene scored the only goal of the game to send the Clever Boys into the the final of the Telkom Knockout.
Mlambo, was named Man of the Match, was pleased with Wits' discipline after taking the lead.
"It was not an easy game, Kaizer Chiefs are a good side, they gave us a run for our money. We had to do whatever we wanted to do to keep the clean-sheet, we knew that once we keep the clean sheet and get one goal we can get through to the next round," Mlambo told SuperSport TV.
"We had a bit of a sloppy start and we gained momentum but after Chiefs got the red card, they were definitely wonderful, they kept us running, we just had to keep our discipline after we got that goal. So I reckon the coach's plan really worked well for us.
"With the situation we're sitting on now, every game is important. We had to focus on this game, now it's over we have to switch on and focus on our next game in the league and turn our situation around."
Mlambo expressed his happiness after coming back from injury to claim a spot in the team.
"Nobody wants to be injured, I pray all the time to stay injury free and keep getting as much time as I could and every opportunity I get I appreciate and work twice as hard."
